An excellent market for micro-inverters.... Looking for suppliers

We have found that a very appropriate market for micro-inverters is Mexico and Latin America. The claim to fame for micro-inverters is ease in installation and panel by panel optimization. However, the key feature for this growing Latin American Market is modularity. Residential users can install small systems at a low initial investment and grow the system over time. This resolves the lack of financing for residential market. A majority of people can afford 500W to 1000W at a time. In this region, a 1KW system would reduce 54% of consumption but 78% of expense for typical users because of the tiered electricity pricing. While each system represents small sales, the potential volume is huge and we plan on capturing it. We need alternatives to enphase

You could also try Enecsys from the UK, I have read some material about their product, looks interesting.

I am interested in your hypothesis? Does the tariff increase with greater energy usage? What is the kwH break point to a higher tariff level. Also, do you assume approx. 5 sun hours per day in this region, I assume it is a bit tropical in this part of the world?

Ken Ash: Enecsys is not yet supporting Mexico . We have been using Enphase products for the last two tears and the market is good so far and growing. We could do better if we got the price down
The many tariffs here (137 different possible) but each are basically structured into three levels: Basic, Intermediate and Peak. For residential, each customer is allotted a certain number of kWhrs per level per billing period and the rate increases with each level. For Industrial and commercial it varies as to the whether the tariffs are based on allotment or time of day -- but tariffs increase with consumption.
We use system specific yield as our meter which is kWhrs produced on grid per KW installed. Our yearly average is about 5,5 but this summer we have producing as high as 7.8. As far as solar incidence is concerned, Mexico is number 3 in the world with and average between 6.5 to 6.9 Kwhrs/m2 per day
