Julian,
I'm not an encoder or Micrologix expert...but I know people who are, including my co-workers <plug> at SICK Inc. Obviously someone at Rockwell, or the manufacturer of your encoder, could probably help, but since you are posting here, i'll assume you are not getting the assistance you need. Feel free to contact our Application Engineering team at SICK Inc (we design and build SICK Stegmann Encoders), particularly a guy named Jon W. Or shoot me an email at dan.bruski@sick.com with the detatils (encoder type, PN, what you are trying to do, etc) and I can get it to the right person. Good luck.

Hi Dan!

Thank you very much for the feedback.

Indeed, some person that I know, asked me this question and I tought that somebody in this group might know about this matter, so I will give him your email to get the right contact.

Best regards,

Julian,

Can you give some more light on as which kind of encoder you are using? You can drop me an e-mail at satyajeet.darak@softdel.com with encoder details and how do you want it to perform. I will get back to you with the right information. Best wishes.

You need to connect it to the High Speed Counter inputs - See chapter 5 of the Micrologix 1400 reference guide on how to set up the counter to handle the encoder. The PLC does not use the index (marker) pulse.
