We are looking for a good information about screw pump.

Please tell me what a screw pump would you recommend for food production (gel) with a temperature around 95 degrees?

Dear Friend,

you can use a two screw pump TSTS series made by Colfax Corporation USA India Business Unit . This pump can be made in All ss316 construction. The drive selection should be properly selected to match the viscosity. The pump has to be stam or hot water jacketed with temp sensors to keep the pump temp at operating conditions before start up. In case the viscosity is variable, you can always opt for an automation with variable frequency drive and viscosity sensor.

Dear friend;

I think the best solution shall be progressive cavity pump (a type of simplex screw pumps). Check the web site of Bornemann Pumps http://www.bornemann.com/ & Seepex Pumps www.seepex.com

Progressing Cavity pumps are also good, it will call for a special elastomer stator and once in a year it will have to be replaced. The number of rotating parts are more as compared to TSTS pump. TSTS will have all metal rotors and a simple timing gear assembly. The wet part and the drive part are two separate identities. The body on the scres is a cop type quick clover clamps can be used on suction and discharge ports allowing to clean this or access rotor for maintenance in very short time and easy too.

Dear Friend..

U must have heard of rotary lobe pumps.. I work in Boerger Pumps manufacturing Lobe pumps but in industrial sector.. You can try fristam lobe pumps from germany or Wright flow Lobe pump from UK. They are good quality lobe pumps with FDA certification. If you dont require FDA cerficate then you can consider Boerger Pumps as well. We can give you all wetted part in SS 316L.. Also also matte finish casing and flanges..If you are interested let me know in my email ID. Debayan BAsu
