washing machine motor not rototating

hai electrical folks
i have a problem with my washing machine . motor is running one side only during wash cycle (it supposed to be run both side ,after a delay between forward and reverse rotation) i checked winding it is good ( not open and not short ) i checked capacitor also it is ok..can any tesla guy is here to resolve my problem.... and one more info -- it just producing a humming sound ,
-- also supply from controller is available to motor winding .

Ramesh,1phase motor I guess? If you're sure the windings are good from your test, then your attention should move to ancillaries.Check capacitor(s) and replace if possible. The bushings may be a problem and out of alignment, check the reversing system/circuit.An open circuit could cause that. Otherwise you are better off replacing the machine because it can cause fire.

Ramesh, I agree with Christian in that there is most likely a problem in the reversing circuit. Also confirm that the motor is actually supposed to reverse. Usually washing machine motors operate a basic transmission which handles all of the mechanical functions of "wash", "spin", stop and run drain pump, etc. In other words, make sure that the transmission is working correctly. They are not hard to replace and depending on the make & model of the washing machine they usually cost around $150 US. Good luck.

I agree with Randy B. Every washing machine I have delt with has multiple gear changing solenoids that make all the changes. The motor only has one direction and one speed (yes even for the spin cycle).
Bummer is that it is usually the tansmission itself that fails.

The macnine has a series of steps of operation which is the sequence of operation of the machine . The machine has a controller that takes care of this sequence. If one sequence in the series fails the next sequence will not start. If the small discharge pump fails after the washing operation it will stop the sequence at that point. Check your discharge pump (small motor). It is probably the problem that is why you only hears the humming because it is energized but it is not running.

regarding motor wht other problm can happen apart frm open ,short ??
and i checkd my control board it is giving same voltage of 230v in both forward and reverse direction ,and same cap is used in both forward and reverse rotation
my machine should rotate in both direction during wash cycle it is confirmed.

At the same time you could check which motor is energised at the time when you hear only the humming noise, and if the main motor is actually spinning, just in case it has to do with an actual stop in the sequence, as mentioned by Mr. Meynardo.
