Pumping in salty conditions

I am looking for a pump that can handle extremely salty conditions. Application can be either submersible or on a floating devise. Does anyone have options or options that will lead me in the right direction.

Niels, we are working in a highly corrosive condition where the salt is a byproduct from urine. Stainless shafts, nut and impellers are not holding up at all in the application. Salt buildup in the pump still causes the impeller to seize up and snap the shaft from the start torque of the motor.

Have you tried a magnetic driven pump where all parts in contact with solution is either, Nylon, Polypropylene, PVC or Polyethylene. We have succesfully used these in pumping brine solutions and sulphuric acids

Try the vertical sump pump design of Fybroc pump. They are designed for salt water conditions with tremendous success in the aquariums all over the world. If you have room or option to design a horizontal end-suction type pump, you'd be successful with their pump material - all FRP wetted components with outside seal. They also have a mag drive version of their FRP units.
