Dataloging with Micrologix 1400

Dataloging in micrologix 1400 can be done from PLC and the stored data can be retrieved using datalog extraction utility. I am familiar of this. I need help with below mentioned points.

1. Program access to data log data (I believe its not possible as the memory used for data log is independent of memory for user program)
2. The manual has information for writing a custom application for datalog retrieval.Need some assistance from someone who has done it.

Thank you for your time.

Dear Arun:

You can use a PLC like datalogger, but sometimes (depending of the application) is more expensive

First of all, I would like to know if you own a Micrologix 1400 or is a project.

Do you have the RSLogix500 programming software or RSLogixMicro?, because you need to know the communication parameters and wich data are going to access.

Without one of the two softwares solution is somewhat complicated.

Best Regards,

I have one 1400 connected over modbus to a PC with a custom software in it.Buy keeping the required logging in PLC. need to send the required data that is created as part of log over modbus as and when requested. The PC will not be connected with PLC at all times.
Have a work around of using the user memory with custom logics for logging.searching on some simpler way if it exist. This is the exact thing i am looking to do
