With the information provided in your post there are probably many possibilities to explain the tripping. Can you provide more information regarding where is the MCB placed (Main generator output, main board, sub distribution board, terminal, etc.), type of MCB, relay, and describe the situation in more detail.

MCB IS PLACED IN THE MAIN GENERATOR OUTPUT

for you to get an answer to the question, you will have to provide more information. e.g. MCB rating, load parameters etc.

Sadananda, A better question might be how the MCB can trip if there no current passing through it. Are you sure it's an MCB and not a RCD? Are you sure that there is truly "no load"? As others have said, much more information is required.

How can u say that there is no load .there may be current due to fault in downstream .
