HART Communication with Siemens PLC

I want to collect process data form ROSEMOUNT flow meter. So it has HART communication facility. Please somebody tell me is it possible to direct connect to the Siemens PLC and what is the required module for this communication other than PLC and Flow meter.
Your support Highly appreciated

Good morning.
It is possible and it is simple, for what I know and I'm a little bit surprised you didn't find it on the web. I would not your question is more complicated than I understand.
Any way, the card code you need is: 6ES7 331-7F01-0AB0 .
This is 8Analog Inputs card, 0/4-20mA <<HART>> .
You can configure Hart Variables freely with Hardware Configuration.
Do not forget to order front connector; it is a different code into Siemens Catalog; selection depends on kind of connection you prefer (screw, spring, ...).

Good luck and best regards !

Dear caludio
thanks for yor information and highly appreciated.
yes I know about this unit. I asked any posibility direct communicat with PLC using some CP card like modbus or profibus with out this 331 unit. Because I have 65 remort flow meters connect to PLC.

Hellò again.
Number of HART devices makes the difference in this case !
Ok, I know two kind of converters:
- HCS produced by MOORE Industries; I know Modbus/RTU (RS485) version. You can contact them and investigate if they have a Profibus or Profinet version. The Modbus/RTU version can transduce signals from 16 (!!!) HART devices. Clearly you need CP card to develop Modbus/RTU master into your PLC.
- ICP/DAS hart/profibus converter; this is Profibus-DP slave. You have only to get GSD file and configure the converter in HW. Only little problem is version I know (GW-7557) can receive HART signals from 4 devices only. You can call the company also in this case.
Other versions may be available.

I think you have right "path" to follow now.
Regards !

You can use a distributed I/O solution from Siemens.
Here is the starting page for their ET200 system: http://www.automation.siemens.com/mcms/distributed-io/en/pages/default.aspx
From this page you can download the brochure (see pages 12-13): http://www.automation.siemens.com/salesmaterial-as/brochure/en/brochure_simatic-et200_en.pdf
ET-200M and ET-200iSP systems support analogue inputs with HART protocol and both of them can communicate on Profibus-DP.

Diagnostic is as important as data itself, via a converter you have to plan a strategy to collect diagnostic information too. By using Siemens ET 200M native solution (plus PDM, I would suggest you), this item is completely and definitively solved also.
Bye.

Dear all
thanks all of you for valuable comments and highly appreciated.
some boy has any idea or experience regarding Hart data collection using CP 341 ( 6ES7 314-1CH02-0AE0). It as mod bus communication.
waiting for your any comments.
Thank you.

I think what you need is HART to MODBUS Converter. You can look into Pepperl+Fuchs (HART MUX with Patch board for 4-20mA Signal) This device can support 32 HART devices.
