Flexible automation

Of all the major robot makers, which ones seem to be the most geared toward flexible automation?

Sorry for deletion as above, done in error.

Depending on what you regard as flexible? (I regard it as meaning open software architecture, and a manipulator which can accomplish a diverse range of application and multitasking).
In my experience on industrial applications, I would say ABB.

I was thinking more of multitasking, grapsing various objects, working efficiently with small batches, etc.

Jason, do you have examples of what they do that make you say they are oriented toward flexible automation?

I presume by saying "flexible automation" you are looking towards Robots which can be quickly reconfigured for design and process modifications. If so is the case ABB and FANUC Robotics are good choice.

If "flexible automation" refers to number of axis, have a look at Kawasaki Robotics. They can do 8 axis.

Lara, I am not asking this question as an end user, but as a robot components manufacturer. The applications I have in mind for what we want to develop is jig-less welding and small batches manufacturing.

KUKA robots are also good and used a lot in automotive industry expecialy in germany were I worked. They can do 6 axis.
