Design A submersible pump with a 3phase induction motor

Is it possible to design A submersible pump with a 3phase induction motor witch is oil cooled as well as oil cavity mech seal.So motor will not depend on water cooling and can run dry.

Yes, I am working with a PM based motor that was designed in house that is doing exactly that.

Sounds interesting,but i am talking only about squirall cage rotor induction motor.I can remember winding A.B.S and Flyght submersible stators that were oil filled.So i was wondering if there is anybody out there who has experience with these types of sumersible pumps.If so back to my first question.Is it possible and the A.B.S.and Flyght pumps were they already doing just that.

In India, many manufacturers are having oil cooled submersible motors.

I think i am not clear enough.What i want to know is if the stator and casing are oil filled,as well as the mech seal cavity,does that mean that the pump is designed to run dry without burning out?

Oil cooled submersible motors (induction ) have been around for at least 40 years, anywhere from 1/4 HP single phase to 200Hp 3 phase. the sealing of the shaft is two fold. One there is a seal to keep the oil in the motor and lubricate to the lower bearing. Two there is a face seal on the back of the impeller to prevent water ingress to the lower bearing. If you run the pump dry this is the seal destined to fail in a very short period of time. Running a dry or pump in cavitation is not recommended.
